Instructions to submit research proposal

Following steps should be followed to make the application:

1. The research project categories which can be considered for NCG funding are: Clinical Research, Basic Research, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Translational Research, and Technology Development.
2. The applicant should complete the details in the relevant sections of the form and submit the application through email to NCG Research Committee at the following Email ID: ncgresearch@ncgindia.org
3. The sections of the application form which are not applicable should be marked as “NA”. The subject section of the email should be marked as “Research Project submission for NCG review and funding” along with “research project category”. The research projects can be categorized into following types- Clinical/ Basic/ Translational/ Medical oncology/ Surgical Oncology/ Radiation Oncology/ Multispecialty/ Palliative Care. More than one category can be selected as applicable.
4. Application should include the following enclosures:
   1. Detailed Protocol with the details of Sponsor PI and Coordinating Centre (word copy and PDF pdf copy). The protocol should have version number and running page numbers
   2. A copy of the proposed Budget
   3. Investigator Undertaking
   4. Letter of intent from each site PI confirming willingness to participate.
   5. Details of the involvement of Patient advocacy representative during the development of the Protocol
5. Once the application is made, an acknowledgement email will be sent to the Sponsor Principal Investigator.
6. After the receipt of the application, NCG CRO personnel will review the application for its completeness and accuracy. If the submission is incomplete, clarifications/corrections will be sought. The sponsor PI will be requested to submit the revised proposal with version number and date of submission.
7. A completed (with all clarifications) application will then be forwarded to the NCG Research Committee for review and recommendation.
8. All the final corrected submitted research projects during a period of 4 months will be pooled for review as detailed below:

9. Depending on the research study complexity and budget, it may undergo 1 or 2 levels of peer reviews.
10. The feedback from the reviewers will be shared with the Sponsor Principal Investigator and the same should be responded to within 4-6 weeks from the date of receipt of the reviewer’s comments.
11. Once the Proposal is approved in principle on scientific validity, the budget will be scrutinised by the NCG Team. Relevant modifications (if any) which are suggested would have to be undertaken before the same is approved.
12. Once the budget is approved, the subsequent formalities related to fund release and utilisation would be undertaken.
